THEME: MAKE ME AN EXCEPTION FOR GOOD, O LORD, AFTER THE ORDER OF NOAH, JOB, DANIEL, ETC.
TEXT: JEREMIAH 5:1.
INTRODUCTION: Noah, Job and Daniel are good examples of children of God who stood for God in their respective generations. Noah was found to be the only righteous man whom God could commit such a great task of building the ark that would save people and animals from flood. ( Gen. 6:9). Job was also attested to as “a man who was blameless, and upright. One who feared the Lord and turned away from evil.” (Job 1: 1). In fact, God Himself said there was none like Job on the earth at that time. ( Job 1:8). Daniel, on his part, refused to defile himself with food offered to idols and stood for righteousness even in a foreign land. No doubt, these men were exceptions for good at their own times. Today we read of them and many more in the Bible.
CONTEXT: it is evident that one of the things that make God to be proud of His children is their undivided loyalty that is constantly displayed both in word and deed, either privately or publicly. It is worthy of note that these people accepted to be men of God rather than men of the people, thereby becoming exceptions for good today. Likewise, we as believers today can be like Noah, Job and Daniel when we look unto God and allow the Holy Spirit to work in and through us. We must aim to walk with God as these people did. The following tips will help us become exceptions for good:
CONCLUSION: A life lived for God on a daily basis will eventually become a reference point for righteousness and godliness. When a believer focuses on Christ and His finished work, he becomes more transformed into the image of Christ and is automatically programmed for goodness of various forms from the Lord.
