TOPIC: Christian fellowship- UNITY
TEXT: John 17:21, Psalm 133:1-6
AIM
INTRODUCTION:
Jesus had several disciples with diverse backgrounds. They were men of various characters. Some were fishermen, tax collectors, etc. The longest prayer by Christ that was recorded in the bible is more about the unity with one another. There will always be individual differences, there will always be denominational differences. But Christ and the church will never be divided.
Christian unity is non-negotiable if the kingdom of God is to spread and gain ground in an environment. Christian maturity leads to Christian unity. Paul instructs us to “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).
DISCUSSION
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
When Christians are divided, they are at a loss. When Christians are united, they go FAST and FAR
MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
