LAGOS WEST ANGLICAN DIOCESE COMMENCES SYNOD MAY 16.

The Annual Synod of the Diocese of Lagos West (Anglican Communion) will start on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral.

The 4-day Synod will start with an opening service that will be attended by Bishops of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Community) and other dignitaries.

The Rt. Revd. Dr. James Olusola Odedeji, who will preside over the First Session of the 9th Synod, has said far-reaching decisions to guide the Diocese will be taken in the business sessions.

He said: “Our Diocese has, by the grace of God, made remarkable progress in the past 25 years. We have no intention of relenting, and this Synod will set the agenda for the next three years and beyond.”

When Bishop Odedeji delivers his charge on Friday, he will examine the state of the nation and review progress made since the last Synod.

The Anglican Diocese of Lagos West was established in 1999 and has since maintained a pride of place in the Church of Nigeria and Anglican Communion worldwide.
