THEME: IT IS A GOOD THING TO DWELL IN UNITY

TEXT: PSALM 133

AIM:

1. To teach that it is good to dwell together in unity.
2. To teach that the benefits of dwelling in unity outweigh that of disunity.

INTRODUCTION:

It is a good thing to dwell in unity. This confirms the prayer of Jesus Christ in John 17:20-21, where he prayed for the unity of the brethren. This is an indication that our peaceful coexistence is important to God, and it is a must for us to dwell in unity if we must please God. Heb. 14:12.In this study, we shall explore unity in its totality.

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:

1. In your own words, explain the word “Unity”. John 17:20-23.
2. What are the qualities that promote unity? Eph. 4:1-3, Gen. 11:1, James3:16-18, 1 Pet. 4:8-10, Phil. 2:14-15.
3. What are the benefits of unity. Psalm 133:1-3, Eccl. 4:9-12, Neh. 4:6, Gen. 11:6.
4. What are the consequences of not walking in unity? Matt. 5:23-26, Gen. 11:8-9.

Unity builds up while disunity breaks down.
