TOPIC: THE BATTLE WILL SOON BE OVER.

TEXT: Rev. 22: 12 – 14

AIM:

  1. To teach that this world is not a permanent home for us, and we shall live as such.
  2. To also teach that our maker is interested in the way we live and has set some principles, standards and guidelines that we should follow as we wait for him.

INTRODUCTION:

God created man in his image to live and glorify his name on earth. But Satan will not allow this. So, man on daily basis faces challenges that if care is not taken, the hope of returning to his maker at last will be shattered, Jn14:3. However, these battles/ challenges are not meant to destroy or swallow us 8:ther will they make us to lose our relationship with our maker, Jn 16:33. So, we should not allow the battles of this life to separate us from the love of Christ our Lord, Rom. 8 : 35-39.

QUESTIONS FOR DISCUSSION:

  1. What do you understand by the word battles or challenges in the life of a Christian? Job 1:6-21.
  2. What are the possible battles that face Christians in this world? 1Jn 2:15-17, Eph 6:12-13.
  3. Is it possible for a Christian to live on this earth without any battles or challenges? Isaiah 32:11-20, Rev. 3:14-16.
  4. If we then know that we face battles almost on daily basis, how should we live as Christians? Ps121:1-3, Ps 119:49-50, Isaiah 43:2-3, 2Cor1:10, 10:3-5, Jme 4:8.
  5. Can any child of God live in isolation and still win the battles? Ps 84:7, 1Cor 10:12, 2Cor 1:3-4, Heb 10:25.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

Challenges and battles in the life of a Christian is certain but unstoppable victories are assured in Christ Jesus.
