ROGATION

Glory be to God for another year of Harvest.  Our church have history and tradition.  By the Church tradition, harvest commence by ROGATION CELEBRATION:

What is Rogation? The history backed in 21st Century.  When a terrible disaster fell on land that affected the productivity of the farm land with the futility of human effort to reduce the effect, the Church led the people in turning to God, seeking His face to avert / drought and wasted labour.

 The word Rogation is derived from Latin Word “Rogare”, meaning “to ask” – John 16:23 – Whatever you ask God in my name shall be given.” Therefore Rogation Sunday is declare Sunday to ask:

1. For God for favour and blessings.
2. That God should bless our lands, crops, etc. Deut. 26:8
3. That God give good weather – Deut. 28:12
4. That God should bless our Seeds – Deut. 16:15
5. That God should bless our industries – Deut. 16:15 and means of livelihood.
6. That God will preserve in propagation of gospel – Romans

            8:18-23

Why Rogation:

1. Time to realize our inadequacies – Ps. 127:1 and Supremacy of God that owns everything.
2. Putting God ahead of our plans & endeavours.
3. Acting in obedience to God’s words will yield a good harvest – Isa. 1:19.

 Right & Good Observance of Rogation: By offering prayers for God’s blessings on our seeds sown in faith with expectation of bountiful harvests.

1. Collect Harvest Cards / Seed Pouches.
2. Accumulate & remit Cards / Seed Pouches on Sundays – James 2:17
3. Raise your daily supplication for your needs to God and cover your seed with prayers – James 5:16b.
4. Submit your prayer request and Testimony – Ps. 37:7, Prov. 23:18.
5. Bring your seed pouches on Rogation and come with your tools for blessings– II Cor. 9:7
6. Watch, pray and waiting.
