DATE: 31ST MARCH, 2024

 AIMS:

  1. I) To help Christians understand the functioning power of praise.
  2. II) To showcase praise as a weapon that breaks yokes.

INTRODUCTION: Praise in the original Greek word means, “to sing, reverence, to tell of or to give” etc. It shows an expression of respect, approval, or an act of gratitude towards God or someone, especially in songs. Praise is one of the five most powerful weapons given to Christians by God. It is a powerful weapon in deliverance and spiritual warfare. This study will help us as Christians to showcase the importance of using praise as a weapon to break yokes.

STUDY QUESTIONS:

  • From the introduction, we have understood the meaning of praise. Discuss what you understand by the word ‘YOKES’ both in physical and spiritual terms. Matthew 11:28-30, Isaiah 9:4-7.
  • How is praising God so powerful and why is praise a weapon? 2 Chronicles 20:15-22, Joshua 6:1-21.
  • Explain how praise can break the yokes in our lives and relate it to our contemporary world. Acts 16:25-26.
  • What are the benefits of praise? 2 Chronicles 5:11-14, Psalm 18:3, Psalm 100:4

CONCLUSION: There are many yokes that bounds the children of God especially in Christendom. When all weapons have been used, one of the weapons that breaks the yokes speedily is the power of praise.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Prayer move mountains, praises move God.

MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 107:15-16 KJV “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, And for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he hath broken the gates of brass, And cut the bars of iron in sunder”.
